Kaspar Koch

Managing Director
Kaspar obtained his MSc degree in Organic Chemistry at the Radboud University of Nijmegen and continued as a PhD researcher focussing on bio-organic reactions in microreactors which  resulted in three patents. Furthermore, he set up the company iWINGS, which involves the development of (custom) webapplication for SME’s.

Kaspar is among others responsible for marketing & sales.

    Pieter Nieuwland

Research Director
After receiving his Masters degree in Organic Chemistry, Pieter performed a PhD research project on the Radboud University Nijmegen. Focusing on the implementation of microreactor technology in organic chemistry, this research laid the foundation for FutureChemistry’s IP portfolio.

Currently, Pieter is responsible for all research and development, product improvement and logistics.

    Bas van den Broek

Senior Researcher
Bas has gained a Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry at the Radboud University, where he has also collaborated for two years with the NCMLS (Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences). More recently, he finished his PhD in the group of prof. dr. Floris Rutjes in the development of synthetic strategies to N-heterocyclic alkaloids.

Within his role at FutureChemistry, Bas is currently involved in the development and implementation of isotopic labeling of compounds using flow chemistry.

    René Becker

Researcher
After gaining his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology, René received a second bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry at the HAN University of Applied Sciences. As a result, his research interests are platforms where multiple fields of technology come together.

René is a member of our R&D department and responsible for carrying out customer projects and investigation of new flow chemistry applications.

Inge Diederen

Sales Manager
After gaining her Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry at the HSZuyd University, Inge received her Msc degree in Organic Chemistry at Radboud University Nijmegen. During her Master she performed her research at Merck Sharp & Dohme former Schering-Plough/ Organon in Oss.

Recently, Inge joined FutureChemistry and is in charge of all sales and marketing activities related to our Flow Chemistry Instruments.

Bram Thelen

Sales Engineer
Bram gained a BSc degree in Applied Science and currently he is a MSc student in Management of Technology at the Delft University of Technology. He worked at the R&D department of DSM NeoResins+, following a period as researcher at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the State University of New York.

Bram joined FutureChemistry in 2009 and is in charge of establishing the implementation of flow chemistry in academic institutes.

    Luuk Wilders

Business Development Manager
After obtaining his Bachelor Degree with honours in molecular science at the Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven, Luuk finished his MSc program in Synthetic-Organic Chemistry. He did an internship both at the University of Adelaide, Australia, and the BASF SE in Ludwigshafen in Germany.
By applying his foreign working experience and broad interest in science, marketing and sales, he is working for FutureChemistry as business development manager.

    Jan van Hest

Scientific Consultant
Jan obtained his Phd in Organic Chemistry in 1996 at the Eindhoven University of Technology. After a post-doctoral stay in the USA, he started to work for DSM research in 1997. First as a research scientist and later as a group leader in the field of new materials development. Since 2000 he is full professor of bio-organic chemistry at the Radboud University Nijmegen.

His research interests are bio-inspired materials and processes. This includes the use of microreactor technology to increase the efficiency of synthesis by minaturisation and flow chemistry.

    Floris Rutjes

Scientific Consultant
Floris Rutjes obtained his MSc in Chemistry at the University of Amsterdam, where he also received a PhD under supervision of Prof. Nico Speckamp (1993). After post-doctoral research in the group of prof. K.C. Nicolaou (The Scripps Research Institute, USA), he was appointed assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam. Since 1999 he is full professor in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the Radboud University Nijmegen. He is currently also Director of the Educational Institute for Molecular Sciences.

His research interests comprise the application of catalysis in the synthesis of biologically relevant molecules and natural products, the development of new molecular diagnostic tools for application in life sciences, and synthesis in microreactors.
